| 31st Grand Polemarch's Administration Announces National Founders' Day Celebration |
|
(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) August 24, 2007 - Grand Polemarch
Dwayne M. Murray, Esquire recently announced the continuation
of a national celebration in recognition of the Fraternity's
founding. The event, which has been previously held in February
over the past two years, will be held on January 5, 2008 this
fraternal year in the Los Angeles area. It will continue on
the first Saturday of January in the following years leading
up to the Centennial Celebration on January 5, 2011 in Bloomington,
Indiana.
"The national celebration has been very successful and has allowed us to enjoy some of the orations of some of our more gifted speakers in Kappa," Murray said announcing the update. Being inside of five years of our Centennial Celebration, we should begin the process of celebrating our Founder's Day as close to the date of our founding as possible. This approach will better prepare us for 2011 when we will celebrate this important event again on the date of our founding, January 5th." The Grand Polemarch is asking as many Chapters as possible to coordinate individual celebrations being sensitive to the date of our national celebrations, hoping many Brothers will choose to attend. As is customary, the Grand Board of Directors will meet the weekend of the Founder's Day celebration. Like in previous years, the banquet will be broadcast live over the fraternity's official website (www.kappaalphapsi1911.com). To reserve a seat for the event and for further details, please contact Ms. Kimberly Billups-Tolbert at International Headquarters (215.228.7184, ext 126). |
